Job summary

Central States, Inc. Mechanical Drafter role focusing on the design and documentation of low/medium voltage switchgear and E-House systems.

You will develop detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for engineered-to-order products in collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams. The candidate will have 2–4+ years of drafting experience in industrial settings and be proficient with SolidWorks, along with BOM creation and revision management.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting or Mechanical Design.
• 2-4 years drafting or mechanical design in industrial or power environments.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and BOM management.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
• We are unable to support H1-B, TN or STEM OPT candidates at this time.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D models and fabrication drawings in SolidWorks.
• Produce general arrangement drawings, switchgear layouts, and BOMs.
• Support development of MV switchgear designs and modular enclosures.
• Incorporate updates and redlines into released drawings.
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability.
• Assist with drawing revisions and PLM/document control.
• Support standardization of drafting practices and reusable components.
• Review drawings for accuracy and adherence to standards.
