Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Power Discrete New Product Engineering Technical Leader to drive all product-level engineering activities for Si, SiC discrete devices in automotive and industrial applications. This role is based in Scottsdale, AZ, and focuses on delivering high-performance, reliable power devices for critical markets.

The candidate will own PTRD/PTS, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure design reviews, DFx, and manufacturing handoffs are executed to meet cost, yield, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics or Materials Science.
• 10+ years of semiconductor discrete power device development (Si, SiC).
• Strong knowledge of device physics, packaging, and reliability for discrete products.
• Leadership capability to influence and lead teams across functional organizations.
• Excellent communication skills to present engineering activities to executives.

Responsibilities

• Own product-level engineering decisions for Si/SiC/GaN discrete devices.
• Define and maintain PTRD/PTS for discrete devices and evaluate candidate process technologies.
• Develop system-level models to validate architecture and performance.
• Drive cross-functional design execution and coordinate design reviews and gates.
• Support handoff to high-volume manufacturing and ensure readiness of processes and documentation.
