Power Delivery Senior Project Manager

Apply: Power Delivery Senior Project Manager position with POWER Engineers, Member of WSP. This role supports transmission and distribution projects for POWER's Power Delivery Project Management team. The position is posted in Overland Park (metro Kansas City) with potential for remote work from a mutually acceptable CONUS location. The selected candidate may work remotely full-time at a non-designated POWER location and may travel to POWER offices for periodic meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Manage technical and financial aspects of Power Delivery projects, develop client relationships, and market POWER’s Power Delivery services to existing and new clients.
  • Promote company culture and manage internal and external relationships.
  • Manage status reporting, invoicing, accounts receivable and unbilled for each project in your portfolio.
  • Collaborate with project design teams.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, lead or participate in project status meetings with project teams and clients, oversee budgets, participate in proposal preparation, and take a leading role in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Work primarily with Power Delivery, with potential interface to other POWER divisions depending on project needs.
  • Travel to client and company locations periodically.
  • Demonstrated project management skills should include CPM scheduling, budget and cost analysis, managing project teams, proposal writing, client relationship development, and project presentations.
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, engineering management, construction management, or 10+ years of professional experience in the electric power and communications industry.
  • Minimum of 15 years of applicable industry experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant project management experience.
  • Familiarity with US investor-owned, cooperative, and municipal electric utilities.
  • Professional Engineering registration or PMP certification, with preference to candidates who hold both.
  • Relevant experience includes project management and/or lead engineer experience on small- to medium-scale Transmission and Distribution projects.
  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools.
  • Understanding of the planning, design and operation of transmission and distribution systems and facilities.
  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility and/or consulting setting.
  • Experience in project controls.
