Job summary

  • Strong laboratory testing, debugging, and validation skills with lab equipment.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and vendors.

  • Design, analyze and validate power delivery solutions including DC-DC converters and PDNs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Power Architecture, IP specs and performance.
  • Work with vendors to define and develop future generations of power ICs.
  • Provide design guidance for system architecture, board layout, bring-up and test.
  • Perform design feasibility studies, testing and verification, and system bring-up.
  • Develop methodologies to optimize performance, size, cost, and EMI.
  • Travel up to 10% as needed.

Description

In this visible role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with, and provide architectural guidance to cross-functional engineering teams in defining and establishing system power architecture requirements for new products.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, analyzing and validating power delivery solutions, including modeling of DC-DC converters, passives, power distribution networks and their potential for EMI.
  • Working with cross-functional stakeholders on Power Architecture, IP specs and performance, passives.
  • Working with multi-functional teams and external vendors to define, develop and productize the future generations of power ICs.
  • Providing design guideline and support to system architecture design, board layout, product bring up, debug, validation, and factory builds.
  • Performing design feasibility study, design testing and verification, and system bring up.
  • Developing and refining design methodologies to optimize system performance, minimize size, reduce costs, and minimize EMI.
  • The role may occasionally involve up to 10% travel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience, BS/MS in relevant field.
  • Must have strong EE fundamentals and problems solving skills.
  • Must have experience in power electronics related design and development, including DC-DC converters and LDOs, PMIC or PMU's.
  • Knowledge of power, analog and integrated circuit design fundamentals, process development, and analytical methodology for high-quality designs.
  • Experience in architecture design of complex power conversion systems or power management ICs.
  • Strong laboratory board-level testing, debugging and validation experience with lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and signal generators.
  • Ability to employ scientific and systematic methods to troubleshoot and drive resolutions of multi-disciplinary system issues.
  • Experience in layout planning and routing strategies.
  • Ability to relate electrical performance to physical layout and system level solutions, including passive components and controls.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+years of experience. PhD a +, in relevant field.
  • Experience in taking projects from the conceptual phase through product ramp-up and mass production.
  • Knowledge and work experience of various integrated circuit process technologies, design flows, reliability, and other related topics.
  • Experience performing or guiding complex power distribution networks (PDN) design for sophisticated power conversion systems. Experience with PMIC or PMU's.
  • Knowledge and Hands-on experience in circuit and EM simulation tools, such as Cadence/Sigrity, ADS/Spice/Spectre, Ansys HFSS/Maxwell/SIWave, and CST.
