Job summary

Ravago Americas is seeking a Power BI Solutions Developer to transform business needs into decision-ready insights. You will design, build, and maintain production-grade Power BI dashboards and semantic models that enable stakeholders across the organization to understand performance and drive actions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Power BI report and dashboard development within an enterprise or governed BI environment.
• Strong data modelling principles (star schemas, dimensional concepts, shared datasets).
• Practical DAX expertise; ability to build and troubleshoot measures.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with cloud databases (Snowflake is a plus).
• Comfortable presenting insights to stakeholders and translating data into business-relevant stories.
• Experience with Power BI Desktop, DAX Studio, and Tabular Editor.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, Git versioning, or Microsoft Fabric is considered an asset.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; additional languages are a plus.

Purpose of the role:

As a Power BI Solutions Developer at Ravago, you will play a key role in transforming business needs into decision-ready insights through high-quality reporting and semantic models. You will design, build, and maintain production-grade Power BI dashboards that help stakeholders across the organization understand performance, identify drivers, and make informed decisions.

You will work closely with business teams to shape requirements, deliver impactful data storytelling, and contribute to a governed enterprise BI environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Power BI Report Development: Build interactive, performance-aware dashboards and reports using drill-through, tooltips, bookmarks, and strong visual design principles.

Data Storytelling & Stakeholder Communication: Present insights to non-technical audiences, explain key drivers behind the data, run demos, gather feedback, and iterate toward decision-ready outputs.

Business Requirements Shaping: Translate ambiguous stakeholder needs into clear specifications, proactively identify gaps, and ensure reports support real decision-making with actionable KPIs and exception-based views.

Semantic Model Maintenance: Maintain and improve Power BI semantic models using star schema and dimensional modeling concepts, including relationships, measures, hierarchies, formatting, and documentation.

DAX Measure Development: Write and maintain report-driven DAX measures (time intelligence, ratios, variance, YTD, etc.), troubleshoot incorrect results, and explain logic to stakeholders.

Security & Access Management: Implement and test Row-Level Security (RLS) and ensure proper workspace access aligned with least-privilege principles.

Data Connectivity & SQL Validation: Use strong SQL skills to validate data, work with cloud databases such as Snowflake, and ensure reliable reporting outputs.

Enterprise BI Ways of Working: Operate in a governed BI environment with naming conventions, certified datasets, documentation standards, and backlog-driven delivery processes.

Your profile:

• Proven experience in Power BI report and dashboard development within an enterprise or governed BI environment
• Strong understanding of data modelling principles (star schemas, dimensional concepts, shared datasets)
• Practical and hands-on DAX expertise, with the ability to build and troubleshoot measures confidently
• Solid SQL skills and experience working with cloud databases (Snowflake experience is a plus)
• Comfortable presenting insights to stakeholders and translating data into business-relevant stories
• Experience with tools such as Power BI Desktop, DAX Studio, and Tabular Editor
• Knowledge of SAP (S/4HANA), Git versioning, or Microsoft Fabric is considered an asset
• Fluent in Dutch and English; additional languages are a plus
