Job summary

MSA Safety is seeking a Data Analyst to collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into insightful dashboards and reports. You will design and develop Power BI visualizations, perform in-depth analyses, and partner with the central data team on governance and data quality.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight), enjoy solving complex data problems, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
• Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools like Power BI to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics specific to your business function.
• Perform in-depth analysis of data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies relevant to your business function.
• Collaborate with the central data team to align data analytics initiatives, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and standardization of data across the organization
• Work closely with the central data team to leverage their expertise in data management, data governance, and data architecture to optimize data workflows and ensure data integrity
• Participate in data governance activities led by the central data team, including data quality assessments, data documentation, and data security measures

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Analyst or Analytics Analyst
• Proficiency in Power BI, Quicksight, Tableau or similar data analysis tools
• Solid understanding of relevant concepts and metrics
• Ability to work with large datasets, perform complex data manipulations, and derive meaningful insights
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
• Continuous learning mindset
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, enthusiastic approach to design and delivery

Preferred:

• Experience in SQL and proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
• Familiarity with data engineering, data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence
