Job summary

SDG Group is seeking a Data Analytics Consultant with a Power BI focus to help clients transform data into actionable insights. You will design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards, data models, and reports, collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver measurable results.

The role emphasizes storytelling with data, strong SQL and DAX skills, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business Analytics, or related field.
• 1–3 years of Data Analytics or BI experience with emphasis on Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational data models.
• Familiarity with Power Query (M) and DAX; experience with Power BI Service is a plus.

About the Role: Data Analytics Consultant (Power BI)

As a Data Analytics Consultant with a focus on Power BI, you'll leverage your visualization expertise to deliver high-impact analytics solutions. You'll work alongside business stakeholders and technical teams to design, build, and optimize dashboards, reports, and data models that drive real decision‑making.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Translating business requirements into intuitive, dynamic Power BI dashboards and reports
• Designing data models that are scalable, performant, and user‑friendly
• Connecting to and transforming data from various sources using Power Query and DAX
• Implementing best practices for data visualization, user experience, and performance optimization
• Collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate, actionable insights are delivered to stakeholders
• Supporting data governance and quality initiatives, ensuring reliable reporting environments
• Communicating complex technical concepts in a clear, business‑friendly manner

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business Analytics, etc.)
• 1–3 years of experience in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence, with a strong emphasis on Power BI
• Solid understanding of DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI Service
• Strong SQL skills and comfort working with relational data models
• Exposure to cloud‑based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus
• Experience with additional tools like Python or other BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) is a bonus
• Strong communication skills, especially when working with non-technical stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation
