Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking a contract Power BI Developer in Richmond, VA with hybrid work options for a 12-month engagement. You will design, build, and maintain BI reporting and analytics across agency divisions, leveraging Dataverse, SQL Server, Azure Blob, and Cosmos DB.

The role emphasizes data modeling, DAX optimization, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver actionable insights. Ideal candidates have deep Power BI experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with Power

Qualifications

Professional experience developing BI reporting solutions with Microsoft Power BI.
Strong proficiency in DAX, including time intelligence and performance optimization.
Power Query and M for data transformation and preparation.
SQL proficiency and querying relational data sources.
Dimensional/semantic modeling, star schema design, and relationships.
Experience with Dataverse or Dynamics 365 data sources.
Ability to elicit requirements from stakeholders and translate to actionable visuals.
Experience with RLS, Power BI Service administration, and deployment across environments.
Public sector, regulatory, or compliance-driven contexts are a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
Develop data connections and transformations using Power Query against SQL Server, Azure Blob, Cosmos DB.
Optimize DAX measures and model relationships for performance and accuracy.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define measures and translate questions into visuals.
Support multiple product teams with reporting needs and agile ceremonies.
