Job summary

Halff is seeking a Power BI developer to create polished dashboards, semantic models, and curated reporting datasets. You will translate business needs into technical requirements and validate results against trusted sources.

The role emphasizes learning new business systems and ERP-driven data environments, with collaboration across finance, accounting, operations, and IT teams to deliver practical data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Intermediate Power BI skills: DAX, data modeling, semantic models, report design and security.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal.
• Ability to learn new business systems and data sources.
• Experience with SQL Server: queries, views, procedures.
• Knowledge of data modeling (fact/dimensions, star/snowflake).
• Experience validating data against trusted sources.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop polished Power BI dashboards with semantic models.
• Validate dashboards against source systems and reports.
• Trace data from sources through SQL, Fabric, models, and reports.
• Learn existing datasets and reporting logic.
• Build curated datasets and semantic models in Fabric.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements for dashboards.
• Document dataset definitions, rules, and data lineage.
• Support cross-functional reporting for multiple stakeholders.
