Job Title: Power BI Developer – Contract – Remote

Job Summary:
We are urgently seeking a Mid-Senior Power BI Developer with experience in Looker , SQL , and Python to join our Business Intelligence team on a 6-month contract. This fully remote role (preferably EST/CST) will support initiatives several crucial initiatives with strong potential for extension based on performance.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives independently, brings creativity to dashboard design, and collaborates effectively across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dashboard Development: Design, build, and optimize intuitive and visually impactful dashboards using Power BI and Looker to support data-driven decisions across business units.
- Data Modeling & Preparation: Develop robust data models and transformations using DAX, Power Query (M), and LookML. Write and maintain advanced SQL for complex ETL pipelines.
- Python Scripting: Leverage Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy) for data manipulation, automation, and advanced analytics workflows.
- Project Focus: Contribute to strategic analytics initiatives focused on data quality, marketing effectiveness, or compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable BI solutions.
- Data Governance: Ensure all solutions adhere to data accuracy, integrity, and security standards.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Power BI development; hands-on experience with Looker , strong SQL and Python skills
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced Power BI (Data modeling, DAX, Power Query)
- Looker (LookML development, dashboarding)
- SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning)
- Python (pandas, NumPy, automation scripting)
- Strong data preparation and transformation expertise
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and iterate on dashboard designs
- Proactive, team-oriented, and detail-focused
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services or regulated environments
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of marketing analytics, data quality metrics, or compliance reporting
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
