Job summary

CARIAN seeks a Senior Data Analytics Developer to transform raw data into actionable insights for a major utility program in Newark, NJ. You will build Power BI dashboards, optimize data pipelines in AWS, and apply AI/ML techniques to deliver analytics solutions.

The role requires strong Python, SQL, data modelling, and data visualization skills, with a hybrid schedule in Newark (three days in office). Candidates with customer analytics and contact-center experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years data mining, modelling, statistics, or applied analytics.
• 5+ years data visualization with Power BI or similar.
• 5+ years AWS services experience including Redshift or similar.
• 5+ years Python for analytics, SQL modelling, data processing, or AI/ML.
• 5+ years SQL and ETL workflows development.
• Experience with large data sets and turning data into insights.
• Strong data modelling, dashboard, analytics delivery, and reporting practices.
• Ability to facilitate requirements discussions and cross-functional development.
• Excellent communication; explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Collect, summarise, analyse, and deliver insights from multiple sources.
• Develop data models and analytics solutions for Power BI dashboards.
• Design and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for stakeholders.
• Identify data sources and optimize pipelines for quality and usability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, IT, and vendors to translate needs.
• Lead requirements sessions with business, IT, and vendors.
• Plan and execute testing with stakeholders and IT.
• Transform data to support customer experience improvements.
• Incorporate AI/ML into analytics use cases where appropriate.
• Analyse data to identify trends, friction points, and opportunities.
• Apply statistical analysis and data mining for decision support.
• Interpret data to derive actionable solutions and recommendations.
• Develop SQL models, ETL workflows, and analytics logic.
• Use Python for analytics and data processing.
• Communicate findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Support data governance and documentation practices.
