Job summary

nLIGHT, Inc. is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to design, develop, and support scalable reporting and data solutions.

You will partner with IT and stakeholders to translate needs into data-driven insights, building Power BI reports, semantic models, SQL queries, and data pipelines to drive operational and strategic decisions. The role collaborates with the BI team to maintain consistent data models, improve reporting performance, and support our modern analytics platform in a fast-paced

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3+ years of experience in relational databases, SQL, and reporting.
Strong SQL skills and data modeling understanding (dimensional modeling).
Experience building interactive Power BI reports and semantic models using DAX.
Familiarity with ETL concepts and cloud data platforms (Azure, Fabric).
Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and maintains Power BI datasets and reports with data modeling and performance optimization.
Builds data pipelines and ETL processes for data ingestion and preparation for reporting and analytics.
Collaborates with stakeholders to translate business questions into insights.
Works with Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based services to support data workflows.
Documents data definitions and report logic to support maintainability.
