Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division is looking for an experienced automation engineer to design, implement, and commission generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver turnkey automation solutions for complex power setups, collaborating with internal teams and customers across a national footprint.

The role requires lifting legacy PLCs to modern platforms, developing PLC and HMI applications, and providing field support while traveling 35-50% of the time.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, contractors, consultants, and end users.
• Automation and controls experience including PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Aufgaben

• Identify retrofit opportunities and support proposals with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV and MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Partner with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
• Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams.
