Job summary

RTX is seeking an entry‑level Power & Analog Design Engineer I to join our McKinney, TX team onsite. You will assist in designing and testing analog and power conversion circuitry for missile, radar, and electronic warfare applications, with a DoD Secret security clearance requirement.

The role emphasizes collaboration with senior engineers, ECAD drafters, and lab personnel, with a focus on reliable design and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with non‑isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck‑boost.
  • Experience with analog electronics: FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, filters, termination, comparators.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, MathCAD, or equivalent simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of voltages >400V and/or power >10kW, 3‑phase power systems, and PF control.
  • Familiarity with military specs and tools like SIMPLIS, SABER, Xpedition suite.
  • Experience guiding ECAD personnel through PWB layout and drawings.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Hands‑on lab experience with power supplies, loads, meters, scopes, analyzers.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

Power & Analog Design Engineer I – Onsite, McKinney, TX (United States of America)

We are seeking an entry‑level engineer to support the design, analysis, and integration of analog and power conversion circuitry for missile, radar, and electronic warfare products. The role requires U.S. citizenship for a DoD Secret security clearance. Salary range: $57,200 – $108,800 USD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with architecture development at the circuit card level.
  • Design, analyze, test, and document analog and power conversion circuitry.
  • Partner with senior engineers and ECAD drafters on stack‑up definition, layout, and routing activities.
  • Support integration, verification, and product test activities in engineering laboratories.
  • Provide product test and troubleshooting support.
  • Track and report execution status against the planned budget and schedule.
  • Pursue professional growth and development opportunities.

  • Hands‑on experience with lab equipment: power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, signal sources, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design efforts or small teams.
  • Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering or related STEM fields are valued.
Security Clearance & Citizenship

U.S. citizenship is required. A DoD Secret security clearance is required and must be maintained from day one.
