Job summary

Innovated Machine & Tool Co., Inc. is hiring a Powder Coater for our sheet metal fabricating plant. Experience with powder coating in automated or batch electrostatic lines is required, including prep, masking and loading conveyors.

Responsibilities include applying finishes, maintaining equipment, keeping records, and adhering to safety rules. We offer robust benefits within a fast-paced facility near Hampton and Newport News.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper powder spraying techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in varying temperatures.
• Reading basic blueprints is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal parts for coating and apply masking tape, plugs and caps.
• Load and unload the powder coating conveyor line.
• Apply powder coating finish in automated and/or manual electrostatic booths.
• Produce the maximum number of coated parts in minimum time by working efficiently.
• Use correct powder per customer specification and read blueprints as needed.
• Monitor quality during production.
• Keep production records of parts, colors used, maintenance, and issues.
• Maintain equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions and performing preventive maintenance.
• Identify, count, and label parts; package finished parts for shipping.
• Move pallets with pallet jack and follow safety rules.

Powder Coater for Sheet Metal Fabricator

Innovated Machine & Tool Co., Inc., is now hiring a Powder Coater for our sheet metal fabricating plant. Experience is required applying powder coating finish in automated or batchelectrostatic powder coating line. Duties include powder coating as well as equipment upkeep, prepping parts for coating, and loading conveyor line.

Duties:

Prepare metal parts for powder coating by applying masking tape, rubber plugs & caps to parts, hardware and holes. Removing caps, plugs & tape after coating has been done.

Load and Unload Powder Coating Conveyor Line of sheet metal fabricated parts.

Apply powder coating finish to metal parts in an automated and/or manual electrostatic powder coating booth.

Produce the maximum number of coated parts in minimum time by working efficiently.

Use correct powder per customer specification – ability to read basic blueprint is helpful.

Monitor quality during production.

Keep production records. Daily record of parts, colors used, maintenance performed, and any problems occurring and addressed.

Maintain equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions; complete preventive maintenance requirements and schedules.

Identify, count, and label parts.

Package finished parts for shipping.Install nuts, bolts, rivets etc by hand or with hand tools.

Move pallets with pallet jack.

Follow company procedures and safety rules.

Requirements:

To be considered, Applicants for this position must:

have a complete working knowledge of proper powder spraying techniques;

be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and vendors as needed;

be able to lift up to 100 lbs;

have Corrected 20/20 vision, be able to identify color and texture;

be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movements;

be able to work in cold or hot temperatures in plant;

be able to pass general, physical, and respirator medical evaluation.
