Wenger Corporation is seeking a Powder Paint Technician who will serve as the primary technical expert for the powder paint processes.



This role might be for you if you:


  • Have at least two (2) years of experience in powder paint processes or equivalent, including project and process improvement experience.
  • Possess knowledge of paint/coating processing, testing, and principles including pre-treatment, application, curing, waste treatment, water treatment, and tooling manufacturing.
  • Can train, lead, organize, and manage multiple projects.
  • Have an intermediate understanding of math and chemistry.
  • Have experience with problem investigation and resolution.
  • Possess excellent verbal, training, and written communication skills.
  • Can distinguish subtle differences during testing and analysis of chemicals and colors.
  • Are able to stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds and push 1000 lbs on a cart.

As a Powder Paint Technician, your typical day might include:


  • Monitoring and ensuring pre-treatment and paint application processes operate within established parameters, conducting tests, reviewing equipment, and communicating with leadership.
  • Operating waste treatment and reverse osmosis water systems, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Designing loading/unloading methods and paint tooling in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Providing support through training, coaching, and process improvement suggestions.
  • Maintaining supplier relations and leading preventative maintenance activities.
  • Managing quality assurance systems and attribute test equipment, including detailed record-keeping.
  • Evaluating productivity metrics and implementing performance improvements.
  • Maintaining chemical, coating, and supply inventories, ensuring proper disposal per regulations.
