Job summary

Organic Valley in McMinnville, Oregon, seeks a Powder Line Operator for onsite work on Mon/Thu 5pm-5:30am and Tue/Fri 5pm-1:30am shifts. This safety-sensitive, hourly position requires careful operation of powder packing equipment, accurate recording of weights and production data, and strict adherence to GMP and sanitation standards.

You will support QA sampling, palletizing, and cleaning duties, with shift premiums for late-night hours and weekends, and a robust benefits program including

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of machine operations.
• Maintain compliance with annual online food safety training.
• Understanding of good manufacturing practices.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Verbal and written communication skills; ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner.
• Ability to work with required sanitation chemicals.
• Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 60 pounds, occasionally up to 80 pounds with assistance, ability to push/pull up to 2,500 pounds using material handling equipment.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment and obtain certifications (e.g., electric pallet jack).
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work weekends/flexible schedules.
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate powder packing equipment within specifications and packaging standards.
• Fill totes neatly and sanitary, record weights and production data.
• Pull products for QA sampling in a sanitary manner.
• Assist with palletizing and shrink-wrapping pallets for shipping.
• Perform daily cleaning, swabbing, and sanitation of powder packaging equipment.
• Sanitize powder line equipment and related areas.
• Follow GMP, safety, and quality assurance practices.
• Support general housekeeping and equipment upkeep.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
