Job summary

• Provide preventative maintenance on equipment and processes.
• Assist in other plant areas as needed.

Description

The Powder Packaging Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and preventative maintenance of powder packaging equipment within a dairy processing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety and quality assurance practices
• Verify quality control items such as product weights, coding, and packaging.
• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of equipment and processes.
• Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping.
• Operate equipment at an efficient level to fulfill production schedules.
• Preventative maintenance on equipment and processes.
• Assist in other areas of the plant as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment.
• Demonstrate an understanding of powder packaging operations, flows, and troubleshooting ability.
• Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of Safety, Quality, and Efficiency.
• Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines in order to maintain regulatory compliance.
• General computer skills and ability to operate testing equipment.
• Maintain necessary powered industrial vehicle certifications.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree. (GED)
• Food manufacturing and industrial machine operation experience preferred.
