Job summary

Piping Rock Health Products, INC is seeking a Powder Fill Set Up Associate in Farmingdale, NY to set up packaging equipment and assist with preventative maintenance on the powder production line. You will perform equipment changeovers, troubleshoot line issues, and ensure compliance with GMP and SOPs while supporting production targets.

This role requires experience with encapsulation machinery, reading manuals, and working safely in a powder environment; a drug-free workplace and FDA-regulated

Qualifications

• Must comply with GMP requirements and on-the-job training will be provided
• 3–5 years minimum experience in a production mechanical trade with encapsulation machine experience
• Ability to conduct machine set-up, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Preventive Maintenance experience required
• Understanding of Lock-out/Tag-out
• Able to read and write in English
• High school diploma or equivalency preferred

Responsibilities

• General troubleshooting on powder line machines.
• Participate in the cleaning process of the powder line machines.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on all assigned production equipment following the PM checklist
• Participate in production when necessary.
• Additional duties as assigned

Job description

Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead Person, the Powder Fill Set Up Associate is responsible for setting up products in the production line, as well as doing some preventative maintenance. Also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.

Responsibilities:

• Perform set-ups / equipment changeovers for manufacturing and process equipment on their assigned resource including (but not limited to): hoppers, check weighers, metal detectors, cappers, sealers, printers and labelers, conveyors and rotary tables and packaging machines.
• General troubleshooting on powder line machines.
• Solid understanding of software, hardware and measuring tools, including but not limited to: identification and proper application of metric and standard hardware as well as the use of tape measures and calipers.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on all assigned production equipment following the PM checklist
• Participate in the cleaning process of the powder line machines.
• Participate in production when necessary.
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training
• 3-to-5-year minimum experience in a production mechanical trade with encapsulation machine experience
• Ability to conduct machine set-up, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work order to perform required maintenance and service
• Preventable Maintenance experience required
• Understanding of Lock-out/Tag-out
• Able to read and write in English
• High school diploma or equivalency preferred

Role’s Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish).
• Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours
