PAINTLINE - PAINTER / MAINTENANCE - 2nd SHIFT 4:00 pm - 2:30 am

Zehnder Rittling is seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to Powder Coat to join our manufacturing team. This dependable candidate will have experience applying powder paint to various metal components to assure color and mil-thickness meet specifications utilizing manual and automatic equipment. The Industrial Painter will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.

Full time position for the Paint Line Maintenance & Powder Coat Painter is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of automated and manual paint lines, ensuring consistent coating quality. This role also includes preparing parts, applying powder coatings, and maintaining all related equipment (and general area) to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production standards. This position is for second shift Mon - Thurs 4:00 pm - 2:30 am with overtime required as needed on Fridays and/or Saturdays.

Reliable transportation is required for 4:00 pm - 2:30 am shift Monday through Thursday (10 hours / day) along with overtime when needed on Friday for 4:00 pm to 2:30 am (10 hours) and sometimes Saturday for 11:30 am - 5:30 pm (6 hours) 5:00 am to 11:00 am.

NOTE: Training will be approximately on the day shift - 5:00 am to 3:30 pm (10 hours/day) for approximately three (3) weeks.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.

Powder Coat Painting

• Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, masking, and sanding as required.
• Operate spray equipment to apply powder coatings to a variety of metal parts.
• Monitor coating thickness and finish quality using gauges and visual inspection.
• Bake coated parts in curing ovens according to specifications.
• Ensure coatings are free from defects such as runs, drips, or uneven finishes.

Paint Line Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the paint line system including conveyors, ovens, washers, and booths.
• Maintain proper fluid levels, filtration systems, and cleanliness of spray booths and ovens.
• Replace filters, nozzles, and other wear parts as part of preventive maintenance schedules.
• Maintain cleanliness of the area

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus.
• Experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred.
• Familiarity with paint line systems, tools, and safety standards.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Work orders, and safety documents.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Stand, bend, and move for long periods.
• Tolerant of high-heat environments (ovens, curing areas).
• Use of PPE including respirators, gloves, and eye protection.
• Comfortable using a ladder

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to loud noise and dust.
• May involve shift work or overtime as production demands.

Full Time, Day Shift, $17.00 - $21.00/hour based on experience.
