About the Role: We are seeking a Powder Coat Painter to join our Finishing Department. In this role, you will operate powder coating equipment to apply protective finishes to transformer components, ensuring they meet both aesthetic and functional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and prime surfaces to prepare for powder coating applications.
  • Equipment Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain powder coating machinery, including spray guns and curing ovens.
  • Application Process: Apply powder coatings uniformly using manual or automated equipment, adhering to specified thickness and finish requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect coated surfaces for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards; perform touch-ups or rework as necessary.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of powder coating equipment and work areas to ensure optimal operation.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of materials, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to meet production schedules and quality objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in operating powder coating equipment; strong attention to detail; ability to read and interpret technical documents.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that involve bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent


Physical And Environmental Requirements

  • Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors
  • Physical Activities: Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed
  • PPE: Wear required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear
  • Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment)
  • Stamina: Stand for long shifts
  • Skills: Effective communication, basic math skills, and teamwork
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards


Schedule Information:

We operate across two shifts:

  • 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

Please note:

  • Current openings are for 2nd shift
  • All new hires begin training on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift upon successful completion of training
  • Overtime may be required, including starting before 7:00 AM (for 1st shift) or working past midnight (for 2nd shift)
  • Shifts are subject to change based on business needs
