Job description

Position Summary

To set up and operate paint application equipment to paint various production materials to production specifications.

Target Starting Rate is $20.66
Key Role Responsibilities
  1. Use manual and automatic spraying equipment to apply paint to all component surfaces conveyed automatically through the powder booth.
  2. Hang materials to be spray painted onto conveyor and/or unload painted material from the conveyor.
  3. Clean and refill all powder feeding units/spraying equipment and record powder usage.
  4. Review shop packet specifications; select the correct color from stock shelves; and apply the powder using a manually operated powder gun.
  5. Unload components and perform visual inspections to ensure complete paint coverage and quality standards are met.
  6. Touch up minor paint defects as required.
  7. Stack completed work on pallets/hand trucks, re-identify customer orders, apply appropriate ID tags, and deliver materials to the next production department.
  8. Comply with all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or hazards.
  9. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  10. Notify supervisors of issues concerning equipment, operations, materials, or documentation.
  11. Perform setup duties on finishing system equipment and safety devices per production documentation.
  12. Position production materials and tooling according to print specifications.
  13. Select and move production materials as required.
  14. Perform additional sanding and tacking as needed.
  15. Maintain production equipment and materials necessary for operations.
  16. Work efficiently to meet production schedules.
  17. Ensure products and systems meet quality specifications.
  18. Accurately record transactions for inventory management.
  19. Participate actively in continuous improvement and lean activities to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash flow.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in powder coat painting in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate machines and tools such as material handling equipment, safety gear, hand tools, measurement tools, and fixtures
  • Proficiency with computers and telephones
  • Adaptability to a changing business environment
