Primary Job Function

Set up and operate the powder coat line, coating a variety of parts to meet cosmetic standards and Q-chips. Create quality color chips for production control based on manufacturer specifications, color, and surface texture. Manage powder inventory and supervise powder coat helpers as needed. Provide recommendations for surface finishes to achieve desired cosmetic results. Perform additional duties as assigned. Note: This position operates on Day Shift (6:00am – 2:30pm).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow department standard operating procedures.
  • Load and unload parts onto carriers for phosphate line cleaning.
  • Rack, mask, and unmask parts on the powder line.
  • Apply powder coating using appropriate equipment.
  • Manage parts and equipment through baking/curing cycles.
  • Finish parts as directed.
  • Inspect products for cosmetic standards at each process step.
  • Handle materials and parts manually or with equipment like hoists.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE usage, to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience working on a powder coat line with all associated equipment and procedures.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Experience operating grinding/finishing equipment with proper grit media.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to properly surface prep products for cosmetic finishes.
  • Dependability, honesty, integrity, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate effectively. May frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds. Must have vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, and temperature extremes may occur within OSHA standards.

Starting pay is $18/hour, with higher pay based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, EAP, PTO, 401(k), profit sharing, paid holidays, and bonuses. A signing bonus of $500 is offered, payable in two installments.
