Grand Targhee Resort is seeking a Winter Seasonal Host to provide warm mountain hospitality, manage reservations, greet guests, and coordinate dining-room flow with attention to detail. You will seat guests, maintain waitlists, and support the front-of-house team during peak periods.

As a Host at Powder Cache Restaurant, you create the first and last impression for guests enjoying our casual fine-dining experience. This role combines warm mountain hospitality with thoughtful dining-room coordination, including managing reservations, welcoming and seating guests, communicating special requests, and pacing the dining room to support attentive, efficient service. Grand Targhee Resort operates seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Work schedules and hours may vary based on business levels, and there is no guarantee of hours. Flexible scheduling may be required.
Due to high operational demand during the winter season, personal time-off and shift-off requests for the winter operating period must be submitted and approved prior to the start of the ski season.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and to estimate wait times, track table counts, and support balanced seating rotation.
Ability to read and understand instructions, menus, reservation information, and guest notes, and to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and coworkers both in person and by phone while accurately relaying reservation details and guest requests.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, make sound decisions related to seating distribution, reservations, and dining-room pacing, and handle routine seating and guest-service challenges tactfully and professionally.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the dining room, communicate with guests and coworkers, and use hands to handle menus, reservation tablets, and service items. The employee may occasionally be required to reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The position also requires close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
This position works primarily indoors at the restaurant entrance and throughout the dining area. The environment is generally moderate in noise level but may become elevated during peak dinner service. The employee may occasionally be exposed to outside winter weather conditions.
