Job summary

Kinsley Power Systems is seeking a Powder Blending Lead in Jerome, Idaho to oversee blending and packaging lines, coordinate production, and lead a team toward quality and safety targets.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh and stage powdered ingredients according to formulation sheets and monitor blending times.

  • Supervise all stages of production on the assigned line, including blending and packaging.
  • Provide training and coaching to team members; maintain a safe, accountable work culture.
  • Conduct in-process checks for blend accuracy and uniformity; report deviations.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of blending equipment and assist in maintenance communication.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Powder Blending Lead is responsible for accurately measuring, blending, and preparing powdered ingredients for production while maintaining flexibility to assist across multiple blending and packaging lines. This role provides leadership to line operators, coordinates production activities, and supports compliance with food safety and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Blending Operations
  • Weigh and stage powdered ingredients according to formulation sheets.
  • Operate blending equipment and monitor mixing times, speeds, and consistency.
  • Perform line changeovers and sanitation procedures between batches.
Flexibility & Support
  • Rotate between blending, staging, and packaging tasks as needed.
  • Provide coverage for absent operators and assist in training new team members.
Production Oversight
  • Supervise all stages of production on the assigned line, including blending and packaging.
  • Monitor line performance to meet production schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of blending equipment.
Team Leadership
  • Lead and train line operators to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching as needed.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance
  • Conduct in-process checks for blend accuracy and uniformity.
  • Follow HACCP, SQF, and FDA guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
  • Maintain accurate batch records and report deviations promptly.
Safety & Maintenance
  • Adhere to all plant safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and notify maintenance for repairs.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Required: High School Education or Equivalent.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing or blending preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and follow detailed formulations and SOPs.
  • Mechanical aptitude for operating blending equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and adaptability.
Physical Requirements:
  • Environmental exposure to warehouses stored at ambient (60-70° F), refrigerated (35° F), and frozen (minus 20° F) temperatures.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for short distances on a regular basis.
  • Subject to up to at least 92db's.
  • Lifting: Up to 60 lbs. occasionally.

  • Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist occasionally.
