Job summary

Crucial Link Solutions in Bastrop, TX seeks a Pour Yard Lead to oversee bronze and stainless steel casting in a fast-paced foundry environment. This on-site role requires independent work, reliability, and the ability to lead a small team while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The position involves outdoor work in varying weather, lifting up to 50 lbs, operating heavy machinery, and adhering to PPE guidelines; salary is $18-21+/hour with 40-hour weeks and potential growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous foundry construction, metal fabrication, or industrial experience preferred.
• Steel Toe shoes required.
• Drug free work place.
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test, respirator use may be required occasionally.
• Ability to learn bronze casting process and operate foundry machinery safely.
• Strong work ethic with dependable attendance and reliable transportation is essential.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50lbs, occasionally lifting up to 75lbs with assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, & climb throughout the 10 hr shift.
• Work in high-heat environment around molten metal.
• Wear proper PPE as required, including face shield, hear- resistant clothing, gloves, hearing protection, steel toe boots, and respirator.
• May be exposed to fumes, heat, dust, solvents, and airborne particles within OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels.
• Familiarity with power tools and fork lift experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely assist with melting, handling, and pouring molten metal
• Operate crucibles, furnaces, and various other heavy machinery and tools
• Reheat shells and monitor temperatures throughout the casting process
• Perform shell knockout using hand and pneumatic tools
• Inspect castings for defects and communicate quality concerns to supervisor
• Maintain work pace consistent with production goals/timelines
• Participate in preventative maintenance and cleaning of foundry equipment
• Ensure safety at times by wearing appropriate protective gear and following established procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned throughout the facility.

Pour Yard Lead

Location: Bastrop TX. Schedule: Mon - Thurs 6:30 AM-5:00 PM (40 hrs/week with 2 paid breaks, one 30 minute unpaid lunch break). Pay: $18-21+/hr

This role has room for growth and optimally will be filled by someone who takes pride in their work, can communicate and lead a team well, while working independently without constant oversight and guidance. The quicker someone can prove themselves in those areas the sooner we can trust them and depend on them

Will work in our Metal Casting department, being a part of a fast-paced team environment. This department is responsible for some essential steps necessary for producing unique pieces of art for artists around the country and across the world. This position will occasionally be needed to help in related departments and the desire for most employees is to cross train. The Metal Casting team works primarily outside in a shaded, covered workspace. Proper PPE is required.
