Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a technical poultry specialist to support producers in caring for company birds and ensuring their comfort and welfare.

Responsibilities include advising on building/equipment specs, conducting farm visits, monitoring feed, and coordinating chick placements. The role requires a bachelor’s in agriculture or related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel 1–5 times per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agricultural field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years' experience in poultry/agriculture-related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 1–5 trips per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to producers on bird care and comfort.
• Visit farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, and provide remedies when possible.
• Monitor feed consumption and place orders if necessary.
• Pull blood and fat samples as required.
• Coordinate chick placements to farms and assist with catch schedules.
• Ensure cross-department communication (Hatchery, Feedmill, Livehaul).
• Ensure compliance with production contracts and regulations.
• Follow USDA and other government poultry handling rules.
• Coordinate weekly chick placements with Broiler and Breeder Departments.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
