Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Poultry Specialist to supervise all aspects of contract farms, resolve grower conflicts, and uphold bio-security, animal welfare and health & safety standards. The role also includes assisting with placements, vaccinations, and disinfection in a dynamic poultry operation.

The candidate must be capable of flexible hours, including some weekends, and be self-motivated with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Poultry Science or related field (preferred)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to calculate feed, manage and weigh birds, prioritize work schedules, solve problems relating to growth, performance, etc
• Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends - on call 24 hours a day
• Must be self-motivated with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Team oriented
• Current driver's license
• Two years of poultry experience preferred
