Job summary

Aviagen in Pikeville, TN seeks a Poultry Specialist II to supervise all aspects of contract farms and coordinate with the Poultry Specialists team. The role requires responsibility for placements, vaccinations, disinfection, and ensuring bio-security and animal welfare compliance.

The candidate should have a BS in Poultry Science or related field, basic computer skills, and the ability to manage feed, weigh birds, and prioritize schedules while remaining flexible for on-call weekends.

Qualifications

• BS in Poultry Science or related field (preferred)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to calculate feed, manage and weigh birds, prioritize work schedules, solve problems relating to growth, performance, etc
• Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends – on call 24 hours a day
• Must be self-motivated with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
• Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Current driver’s license
• 5 years of poultry experience preferred
