BJE Poultry is actively recruiting for a Poultry Service Technician, Floater to join our Live Production team.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to poultry service technicians in fulfilling their duties including sampling, supplies, and services.
- Pulls swabs and blood samples from all flocks designated in a timely and accurate manner as needed.
- Trains and directs new and current contracted growers on their daily duties.
- Monitors the health of the flocks.
- Participates in third-party consultations and meetings including nutrition, vet, supplier, and customer interactions.
- Administers medications, vaccines, and lab submissions; performs tests to identify disease and communicates findings.
- Sets up and monitors ventilation programs and utility usage at farms.
- Maintains assigned route square footage to meet sales demands and fulfill customer orders.
- Supports and services contracted growers to improve profitability by implementing production programs and ensuring compliance.
- Communicates schedules to growers and oversees feed order scheduling.
- Troubleshoots equipment and production issues, analyzing and diagnosing opportunities for improvement.
- Records and submits findings related to flock livability, quality, and feed conversions.
- Follows biosecurity, food safety, and poultry welfare protocols at all times.
- Ensures vehicle and equipment maintenance is up to date and compliant with regulations.
- Monitors chick placements, bird weights, flock movements, mortality, and feed inventories.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent in poultry science or veterinary technology from a two-year college or technical school.
- Two or more years of related industry experience or training.
- Certified Poultry Technician License required upon hire.
