BJE Poultry is actively recruiting for a Poultry Service Technician, Floater to join our Live Production team.

Responsibilities
  • Provides assistance to poultry service technicians in fulfilling their duties including sampling, supplies, and services.
  • Pulls swabs and blood samples from all flocks designated in a timely and accurate manner as needed.
  • Trains and directs new and current contracted growers on their daily duties.
  • Monitors the health of the flocks.
  • Participates in third-party consultations and meetings including nutrition, vet, supplier, and customer interactions.
  • Administers medications, vaccines, and lab submissions; performs tests to identify disease and communicates findings.
  • Sets up and monitors ventilation programs and utility usage at farms.
  • Maintains assigned route square footage to meet sales demands and fulfill customer orders.
  • Supports and services contracted growers to improve profitability by implementing production programs and ensuring compliance.
  • Communicates schedules to growers and oversees feed order scheduling.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and production issues, analyzing and diagnosing opportunities for improvement.
  • Records and submits findings related to flock livability, quality, and feed conversions.
  • Follows biosecurity, food safety, and poultry welfare protocols at all times.
  • Ensures vehicle and equipment maintenance is up to date and compliant with regulations.
  • Monitors chick placements, bird weights, flock movements, mortality, and feed inventories.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Certified Poultry Technician License required upon hire.
