Job summary

Foster Farms in California is seeking a hands-on Ranch Manager to oversee grow-out operations and lead a team in support of high-quality poultry production. You will monitor facilities, implement sanitation and welfare standards, and coordinate with the Ranch Manager to control costs while ensuring safety and regulatory adherence.

Key responsibilities include training staff, maintaining accurate production records, and responding effectively to alarms or emergencies affecting flocks.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the Chicken Grow Out Training Program.
• Poultry raising experience preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must possess supervisory and leadership skills.
• Strong mathematical and organizational abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills (Basic English).
• Able to move and lift 50 pounds.
• Willing to respond to alarms and emergencies affecting the chickens.
• Available to work overtime, evenings, holidays and weekends.
• Willing to work at other ranches as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ranch activities in cooperation with the Ranch Manager.
• Assist grow-out program setup, animal health, and productivity.
• Maintain ranch facilities, equipment, and sanitation.
• Help manage production costs including labor, fuel, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of feed, mortality, production and energy use.
• Provide training and delegation of duties to ranch staff.
• Uphold safety, animal welfare and disease prevention guidelines.
• Respond to alarms and adverse conditions affecting flocks.
