Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking an inspector to sort and inspect poultry carcasses, identifying contamination or defects and removing unfit products from processing. You will rotate inspections for tumors and maintain daily logs, while upholding safety policies in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (NPIS training preferred) and at least 6 months in a poultry processing setting, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet inspection standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in a poultry processing plant.
• Knowledge of poultry quality and defects.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to determine if product meets specification standards.
• Ability to meet or exceed inspection standards.
• Self-starter with initiative and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort and inspect a sample of poultry carcasses to identify and condemn any evidencing contamination or other defects.
• Rotate to inspect all carcasses for Leukosis tumors as needed.
• Maintain condemn/salvage summary/log with daily reporting.
• Follow and promote safety initiatives, wearing PPE when mandatory.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
