Duties vary by department and may include:Handling, sorting, and moving poultry products along the production line.Trimming, cutting, or preparing products using knives, scissors, or approved equipment after training.Inspecting products for quality concerns and reporting defects or contamination.Packing products into designated containers and following instructions for counts, weights, labeling, and packaging.Physical requirements and work environmentDepending on the assignment, the position involves extended periods of standing or sitting, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, and lifting materials weighing approximately 10–50 pounds.Employees work around raw poultry and production equipment. Conditions may include cold or hot temperatures, moisture, noise, and wet or slippery surfaces. Required protective equipment may include hairnets, beard nets, gloves, cut-resistant gloves, smocks, aprons, boots, and hearing protection.Dress CodeWear closed-toe, closed-heel footwear with slip-resistant soles.Follow plant restrictions on jewelry, watches, piercings, artificial nails, nail polish, and personal items including cell phones in production areas.No sleeveless shirts, shorts - clothes must be clean and cannot have holes.
