Job summary

Aviagen’s Elkmont & Athens Farm in Alabama is seeking a dedicated Clean-Out Crew Member to sanitize poultry houses, equipment, and assigned areas in line with Aviagen’s sanitation and biosecurity standards. You will remove litter and debris, prepare surfaces for cleaning, and support equipment operators to ensure efficient, safe operations between flocks.

Work includes following SOPs, using PPE, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Prior agricultural, poultry, farm, sanitation, or general labor experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, SOPs, and safety/biosecurity procedures.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals safely and use hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow sanitation, biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare procedures.
• Prepare poultry houses and areas for clean-out and sanitation.
• Remove litter, debris, and equipment; clean and sanitize floors and surfaces.
• Assist with equipment handling and setup for cleaning operations.
• Work with crew members and supervisors; report safety or maintenance concerns.
• Adapt to varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
