Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Maintenance I associate to sustain hatchery facilities, equipment, and systems in a busy poultry operation in Alabama. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and carry out repairs to ensure safe, efficient production, while upholding biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

The role requires independent work, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to operate heavy equipment. A team-oriented approach and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in agriculture, farming, poultry, or related mechanical maintenance preferred.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Biosecurity rules adherence required.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hatchery facilities and equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Maintain electrical and mechanical systems with basic repairs.
• Operate forklifts and scissor-lifts as required.
• Maintain maintenance records and inventories.
• Follow safety, biosecurity, and environmental policies.
