Job summary

Aviagen in Longview, Texas, is seeking a Hatchery Associate I to support daily hatchery operations. You will help maintain sanitation, transfer eggs, prepare newly hatched chicks, and assist with packaging and shipping to customer farms, while upholding welfare, biosecurity and safety standards.

The role requires reliability and the ability to work in a fast-paced poultry environment with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform repetitive work with accuracy.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hatchery facility.
• Clean and sanitize hatchery equipment such as setters, hatchers, and conveyors.
• Transfer eggs from setter machines to hatchers per procedures.
• Prepare newly hatched chicks for processing, packaging, and shipment.
• Handle day-old chicks humanely in line with SOPs and animal welfare standards.
• Assist with hatch pull operations and shipping materials.
• Complete required production records and assist with inventory.
