Job summary

Daybreak Foods, Inc. in Michigan is seeking an Animal Caretaker to manage the welfare and environment of laying hens under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.

You will monitor barn conditions, report findings to the supervisor, perform light facility maintenance, and assist with moving birds and cleaning duties to ensure a safe and productive environment. The role requires reliability, basic math, good communication, and comfort working around animals; starting pay is $17.33 per hour

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalency preferred.
• 1 year experience in agricultural environment and animal care preferred.
• Must be self-directed, organized and able to document tasks clearly.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend to welfare and environment of chickens under supervisor guidance.
• Monitor barn conditions and report findings to Production Manager/Supervisor.
• Perform light maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Move birds, operate related equipment, and assist with cleaning chores.
• Document tasks daily and weekly, ensuring proper records.
