Job summary

Daybreak Foods, Inc. is seeking an Animal Caretaker to oversee the welfare and environment of chickens, under the Production Supervisor. The role includes monitoring barns, maintaining facilities, and reporting conditions to ensure a safe, productive environment.

Responsibilities cover securing premises, daily task documentation, monitoring bird health and feed/water, mortality disposal, and assisting with animal movement and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Must be self-directed and organized.
• Ability to track and document activities with correct forms.
• Strong communication skills—verbal and written.
• Working knowledge of agricultural operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security of chickens and premises by keeping doors locked to protect birds from predators and unauthorized personnel.
• Document completed tasks on a daily and weekly basis.
• Observe bird health and proper supply of feed, light, air and water daily.
• Properly collect and dispose of mortality.
• Move birds in and out of houses and operate bird moving equipment.
• Monitor bird health and production and report findings to the Production Supervisor.
