Daybreak Foods in Gaylord, Michigan is seeking an Animal Caretaker to oversee the welfare and environment of laying hens under the direction of the Production Supervisor. You will monitor barn conditions, report findings, and assist with routine maintenance and bird movement.

This role emphasizes animal welfare, safety, and teamwork. A High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year in an agricultural environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year experience in agricultural environment and animal care is preferred.
• Ability to track and document activities accurately.
• Must enjoy working in close contact with animals.

Responsabilités

• Ensure security of chickens and premises; lock doors to protect birds.
• Monitor bird health and report conditions.
• Perform light maintenance on facilities and equipment.
• Document tasks daily and weekly.
• Operate equipment safely and follow safety policies.
• Move birds in and out of houses as needed.
• Maintain ventilation and cleanliness in poultry houses.
