Job summary

Idaho Pacific Holdings seeks a Drum Operator to run a potato-dehydrating drum, focusing on product quality and consistency per customer and company specs. The role requires careful handling of mash and attention to safety to minimize injuries.

The operator will monitor feed auger speed, adjust rollers, and maintain clean mash on applicator rolls while avoiding defects. This is a hands-on, 24/7 plant environment demanding stamina and adherence to GMPs.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, calculate and communicate required materials and instructions.
  • Experience working around processing equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adequate and consistent flow of mash; monitor and adjust feed auger speed and roller adjustments.
  • Ensure drum operates efficiently by keeping mash on applicator rolls; keep mash clean on rollers to minimize defects.
  • Reduce waste/defects by adjusting rolls and maintaining a thick sheet of mash.
  • Use a bullhide knife to remove bullhides when discovered.
  • Inform Flake Operator of problems; assist in replacing flake knife when required.
  • Stay near the drum at all times while operating.
  • Check for product defects and notify supervisor if product is out of grade.
  • Follow safety regulations and plant policies.
  • Complete sanitation responsibilities and keep tools clean and sanitized.
  • Follows GMPs and performs other duties as necessary.
