Job summary

Idaho Pacific is seeking a Drum Operator to run the potato-dehydrating drum and manage mash flow with a focus on quality and safety. The role requires staying near the drum during shifts and maintaining clean, sanitary conditions on the line.

Shift rotation occurs every 28 days with AM, Swing, and Grave shifts. Swing +$1/hr; Grave +$1.50/hr. Start immediately in a very physical, fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the potato dehydration process is helpful.
  • Ability to closely follow operational instructions.
  • Previous experience working around processing equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of chlorine use and cleaning/sanitizing chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an adequate and consistent flow of mash by adjusting the feed rate and rollers.
  • Keep the drum operating efficiently by ensuring mash on applicator rolls and proper cleaning.
  • Minimize waste by adjusting rolls and maintaining thick mash sheets.
  • Use a bullhide knife to remove bullhides when discovered.
  • Inform the Flake Operator of problems and assist with knife replacements as needed.
  • Remain near the drum during operation to monitor performance and safety.
  • Check product quality and report out-of-grade material to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow sanitation practices.
  • Comply with safety regulations and company policies; support all GMP practices.
  • Complete other duties as necessary.
