Job summary

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA seeks an inspiring nurse leader to join us as Unit Director for the Postpartum Units. You will provide clinical and operational leadership, coaching four clinicians across units 3700 and 3800, and advance quality and patient experience initiatives.

The role reports to the Clinical Director of Obstetrics and requires a Master’s degree with at least four years of progressive leadership experience; MSN enrollment is required within one year if not

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; if not held at hire, enroll in MSN within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
• Four years of progressive leadership experience required.
• Experience in nursing leadership and team development is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with medical staff to monitor patient outcomes and set clinical quality priorities.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships; mentor staff and foster positive communication.
• Lead, coach, and develop clinicians reporting to the Unit Director; support recruitment and performance reviews.
• Manage unit budget, staffing, and resources to meet safety and quality goals.
• Promote patient-centered care and evidence-based practice across postpartum units 3700 and 3800.
