Job summary

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for leading nursing care for a group of patients and families. The RN applies independent judgment and collaborates with all team members to ensure quality outcomes.

Core duties include establishing partnerships with physicians, delegating and evaluating care, and preparing patients for discharge, with a focus on leadership, teaching and supervision within the DMC system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program with RN licensure in Michigan.
• BSN preferred for enhanced clinical leadership.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and health care providers.
• Delegate, assess, provide and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and prepare for discharge.
• Provide and supervise nursing care within the care team.
