Responsibilities

Do you have great communication skills, enjoy working with people, and enjoy a challenge? Our Sterling, MA location is currently seeking a talented production supervisor for our 12-hour rotating 8pm-8am shift.

Summary:

Reports to our Production Manager. Our Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and motivating the production team to exceed goals. Monitors day-to-day production activities to ensure production efficiency goals are being met, safety protocols are being followed, and quality product is being produced. Directly supervises 18-25 hourly employees. Plans and controls production performance as measured against operating KPIs developed according to machine and manpower capabilities along with projected business. Ensures compliance to established customer quality and production standards. Actively leads and participates in plant safety, housekeeping, 5S, and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department. Ensures completion of all required paperwork, schedules, work orders, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and execute all company regulations, policies, and programs according to Berry, local, state, and federal requirements, including Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, and Human Resources.
  • Address mechanical, operational, and technical downtime issues within the department.
  • Train, motivate, and mentor employees.
  • Supervise employees in day-to-day operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Maintain and improve production throughput and work with the Production Manager to control direct labor costs.
  • Implement, understand, and follow company policies, quality procedures, and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
  • Support on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A four-year degree is preferred or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Experience in the Blown Film Industry is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3+ years in a production supervisory role, with a strong background in blown film preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to assess situations quickly.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to convey ideas clearly and ensure understanding.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and demonstrate empathy.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Self-confidence to inspire trust.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JDE, Teams.
  • Flexibility to work any shift as needed.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods is a plus.
