Job summary

HireHi ищет опытного инженера PostgreSQL для удаленной работы над глобальной платформой обработки событий. Вы будете поддерживать и улучшать 180 кластеров Aurora PostgreSQL, работать с репликацией, настройками и производительностью.

Требуется глубокий опыт оптимизации запросов, проектирования схем, управление инцидентами и участие в проектах отказоустойчивости. График гибкий, удаленная работа из стран ЕС с релокацией в Испанию/Болгарию/Португалию.

Qualifications

• 5+ лет эксплуатации PostgreSQL в продакшене под реальной нагрузкой.
• Глубокий опыт дизайна схем, отладки и устранения причин ухудшения производительности.
• Умение писать эффективный SQL, работать с планами запросов и индексацией на больших таблицах.
• Экспертиза в экосистеме PostgreSQL: репликация, HA/Failover (Patroni), PgBouncer, обновления версий.
• Хорошее знание Linux, базовые навыки сетей, опыт автоматизации.
• Скрипты на Bash/Python/Go и готовность работать с Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Поддержка примерно 180 класторов Aurora PostgreSQL, включая индексы на больших разделённых таблицах.
• Настройка конфигурации и cost-оптимизация, управление репликами и failover.
• Ответственность за PgBouncer и дорожную карту его развития.
• Ревью схем и моделей данных с командами продуктов, советы по шардингу и retenции.
• Повышение производительности основных сервисов и запросов в поиске AI‑функций, исследование цели 10 000 jobs/second.
• Документирование процессов без downtime и выпуск версионированных процедур миграций.
• Разработка и развёртывание инструментов мониторинга и управления флотом в Kubernetes.
• Управление инцидентами от начала до конца, RCA и последующие исправления.
• Участие в проектах устойчивости, DR-пилоты, переконнект после фейловера и CDC‑потоки, которые выдерживают апгрейды.
• Оценка новых технологий баз данных и принятие решений на их основе.

The company operates a global automation platform that processes billions of events daily.

Задачи

• Keep approximately 180 Aurora PostgreSQL clusters healthy, including managing indexes on large partitioned tables without downtime, query plans, and data migrations
• Handle Aurora configuration, including parameters, replicas, failover, and capacity, and optimize costs
• Own the PgBouncer layer and develop its roadmap
• Review schemas and data models with product teams, advising on partitioning, retention, and shared versus dedicated clusters
• Improve performance across the main application and search queries behind AI features, and research a 10,000 jobs/second target
• Package existing zero-downtime upgrade and switchover procedures into versioned, released automation
• Develop and deploy tooling for monitoring and managing the fleet in Kubernetes
• Handle incidents end-to-end, including root-cause analysis and follow-up fixes
• Contribute to resilience projects, including a cross-region DR pilot, application reconnect after failover, and CDC pipelines that survive upgrades
• Take part in time-boxed evaluations of new database technologies and make real decisions based on them

Требования

• 5+ Years operating PostgreSQL in production under real load
• Deep experience with schema design, debugging, and production performance troubleshooting
• Proficiency in SQL, query plans, indexing strategy, and performance work on multi-TB tables
• Expertise in the PostgreSQL ecosystem, including logical and streaming replication, HA and failover (Patroni), connection poolers (PgBouncer), major-version upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime
• Linux fundamentals, including processes, memory, OOM behavior, and networking basics
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or Go, and an automation-first attitude
• Readiness to work actively with Kubernetes
• Strong RCA and incident management skills
• English at Upper-intermediate level (B2)
