Job summary

Pluribus Digital is seeking a Database Administrator to ensure the availability, performance, security, and recoverability of PostgreSQL and MySQL databases on AWS for the HIOS CMS. You will handle daily operations, upgrades, backups, and security, while collaborating with data teams and developers in an Agile setting.

You will contribute to ETL and data modeling with Talend and Erwin Data Modeler, and support deployment activities with Liquibase, IAM, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Public Trust clearance eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Three years of experience administering production relational databases.
• PostgreSQL DBA experience including backup/recovery, replication, performance tuning, vacuum and bloat management.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL.
• Strong SQL skills including PL/pgSQL and MySQL knowledge.
• Experience with on-call / triage rotations.
• Understanding of change control and production change management practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer PostgreSQL and MySQL databases on AWS RDS across Dev, Test, Impl and Prod.
• Plan and execute minor/major upgrades; perform OS patching; blue/green deployments; validation; rollback planning.
• Own backup and recovery strategies; perform scheduled tests.
• Monitor and tune performance using pg_stat_statements, Performance Insights and indexes.
• Manage database access, IAM authentication, and audit trails (pgaudit).
• Support app deployments by reviewing Liquibase changes and handling rollbacks.
• Build monitoring and automation with CloudWatch, SNS, pg_cron, Ansible, Jenkins.
• Contribute to ETL development and data modeling with Talend/Erwin.
• Write runbooks and technical docs; share knowledge with team.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, DevOps, security; participate in Agile planning.
