Job summary

Infosys is seeking an Infrastructure Consultant 2 to manage PostgreSQL databases across development, test, and production environments. The role focuses on high availability, replication, backup, and performance tuning within a 24/7 PST-aligned support model.

Responsibilities include incident resolution, infrastructure assessment, deployment coordination, and documentation. Strong Linux scripting, and ability to work with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required.
• Experience as PostgreSQL DBA in production environments.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL high availability, replication and DR.
• Strong Linux/Unix and shell scripting skills.
• Ability to document infrastructure diagrams and processes.
• Willingness to work PST time zone and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to resolve incidents, perform root cause analyses and document preventive actions.
• Assess client IT infrastructure and prepare actionable reports.
• Design scalable, cost-effective IT infrastructure solutions and document them.
• Coordinate deployments, testing, and version control for environments.
• Manage maintenance schedules, fixes, and upgrades to ensure 24/7 support.
• Analyze performance data and support capacity planning.
• Conduct security checks and recovery drills to ensure compliance.
• Create centralized knowledge repositories from project insights.
