Job summary

Unisys is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage multiple enterprise databases with a focus on performance, security, and reliability. The role requires hands-on expertise across MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2, plus ETL, SQL scripting, Shell/PowerShell automation, and proactive tuning.

The DBA will own installations, upgrades, patching, backups, DR, and security while supporting cross-functional teams and multiple accounts.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of DBA experience in enterprise or multi-client environments.
• Hands-on administration for MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2.
• Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.
• Strong SQL, Shell scripting, and PowerShell skills.
• Knowledge of high availability, replication, backup, and recovery.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and accounts/projects simultaneously.

Unisys is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 6 years in enterprise database environments to manage and support multiple databases across diverse accounts and projects, ensuring performance, security, and reliability. The role requires strong hands‑on expertise with MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2, along with skills in ETL processes, SQL scripting, Shell/PowerShell automation, and database performance tuning. Success in this role at Unisys requires the ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams to deliver seamless database operations and support enterprise service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2.
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
• Monitor database performance, identify issues, and apply tuning to optimize systems.
• Manage ETL processes for data integration, transformation, and reporting.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL scripts for automation, reporting, and data manipulation.
• Create and maintain Shell scripts and PowerShell scripts for routine maintenance, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Implement and manage database security, user access, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot database issues in production and non-production environments.
• Manage multiple accounts or projects at the same time, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and maintain service quality.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to support application deployments, resolve issues, and improve database processes.
• Document procedures, system changes, and best practices for knowledge sharing and continuity.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years experience as a DBA in enterprise or multi-client environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2 administration.
• Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.
• Strong SQL, Shell scripting, and PowerShell skills.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, high availability, replication, backup, and recovery.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and accounts/projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate clearly with teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and also collaborate effectively in team environments.
