Job summary
Contact Government Services, LLC (CGS) is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Developer to migrate from Oracle to a Microsoft Azure Postgres database and manage scalable data environments in a federal-focused IT setting. The role emphasizes proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and high availability across Linux-based PostgreSQL instances.
The successful candidate will document processes, collaborate across teams, and participate in agile development cycles while aligning with our data analytics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- US Citizenship required.
- 7+ years of PostgreSQL administration in Linux environments.
- Experience setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instances.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery for PostgreSQL.
- Experience migrating Oracle schemas, packages, views, triggers to PostgreSQL using Ora2Pg.
Responsibilities
- Migrate from Oracle to PostgreSQL and ensure scalable, reliable databases.
- Create and maintain technical documentation using templates and understand business data deeply.
- Collaborate with internal/external teams to translate objectives into requirements.
- Ensure availability and performance of databases with adequate resources and resilience.
- Perform and assist in database performance tuning.
- Monitor security, patching, upgrades, and upgrades with minimal downtime.
