Job summary

Brooksource in Louisville is seeking a PostgreSQL/Cloud Automation Engineer to join the Data Platform and Enablement team. The role focuses on administering PostgreSQL in cloud environments (Azure and GCP) with a strong emphasis on automation and operational efficiency.

You will automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and other tasks using Python, PowerShell, Terraform, and GitHub, and collaborate with engineering teams to improve processes and tooling.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL from an operational DBA perspective.
• Experience in Azure and GCP cloud environments.
• Scripting and automation using Python and/or PowerShell.
• Experience automating database administration and operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments.
• Automate database provisioning, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and tasks using Terraform and scripting.
• Troubleshoot database performance, availability, connectivity, and operational issues.
• Document processes, configurations, and procedures; provide guidance to dev teams.
• Partner with Data Platform and Enablement teams to improve tooling and standards.
• Support upgrades, patching, and platform maintenance.
